Some Good News

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” — Andy Bernard, The Office

You might be feeling this quote right about now.

Ah — the days when we could go where we wanted, when we wanted to see whomever we wanted.

Starbucks coffee. Small talk with your co-workers. Sports. Senior Prom. Monday mornings when the kids are up before 10 am. A hug from your grandmother.

Are things tough right now?

Yes.

Are you ready to step out of quarantine and back into your favorite restaurant?

Yes.

Are you and your team members worried?

Yes.

Which is why I love this new “television station” John Krasinski (Jim from TV show The Office) setup in his home:

If you’re healthy, you have much more than many right now.

Your ability as a leader to view this current time in our history as an opportunity — not a threat — will determine how you appear on the other side.

Things will get better.

This is not smoke and mirrors.

This is a call to faith and focus.

There are still wonderful things happening in the world.

If you look for them — you’ll find them.
